My neurotype and diagnoses

I was diagnosed on the NHS with Asperger’s Syndrome in 2018, aged 42. I reject the wording of this diagnosis, and I just call it autism. I am autistic.

I also have ADHD, self-identified in 2021. My GP referred me for ADHD diagnosis in 2022 through Psychiatry UK via NHS “right to choose”, and I am currently awaiting my diagnostic observation appointment having scored highly on the screening questionnaires. ADHD, I believe, disables me more as a working mum than autism does.

I identify as AuDHD which is not a diagnosis, but I regard it as my neurotype. I am an AuDHDer.

I also have Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), self-identified in 2019 and finally diagnosed on the NHS in September 2022.
