I enjoy singing guest vocals in my husband’s band from time to time. I play acoustic guitar and sing.
I am a keen run leader (England Athletics-qualified Leader in Running Fitness) and I teach people to run (Couch to 5K) and help them keep running regularly, in my village social running group Alvechurch Running Buddies.
Long country walks never fail to make me feel good, as I am regulated by visual and kinetic stims.
I like to write blogs about neurodiversity, and LGBTQIA+. I am a volunteer contributor to AIM for the Rainbow, part of the non-profit organisation Autistic Inclusive Meets, to promote understanding and acceptance of those on the ‘double rainbow’ of Autism and LGBTQIA+ spectrums. I am bi/pan myself, but I mainly do this in memory of my son Iggy who sadly ended his life in April 2019 aged 15.
Introduction – AIM for the Rainbow
I enjoy cosplaying with my daughters (who are also autistic) and taking them to conventions. My characters are usually Harley Quinn (from Batman) or the Scarlet Witch (from Marvel Avengers). My daughters dress as anime characters. We also love to march in Pride parades.
I put myself out there in a fun and outgoing way, despite my sensory sensitivities and anxiety.
