I am not anti-AI in general. Progress matters, and I find Chat GPT useful for giving me structured text, collated from many data sources, I love using the AI features in Canva and CapCut, but…

I am really not keen on the AI artwork taking over the Internet at a cost to independent artists and creatives.

I recently commissioned Piper Bates of Piper Strange Arts to create illustrations for my book, and Hetal Trivedi of The Beautiful Moments to do my Ausome Charlie Ltd brand photography. This is all surprisingly affordable, and the results are very personal and special.

No AI ever said to me, ‘let’s try this, take this handful of confetti and throw it in the air’. Please consider supporting individual artists over AI art.
