I’ll be weird if I want to

Weird Pride Day poem by Charlie Hart (Ausome Charlie)

I’ll be weird if I want to,
As peculiar as I like.
If you think I should fit in,
Well, you can take a hike!

Weird can be wonderful,
Subversion is such fun.
So, take your dull conformity,
And hoy it in the sun!

As queer as I want to be.
Queerness is not a sin.
Take your cis het normativity,
And chuck it in the bin!

I’ll keep on neuro-queering,
As much as I desire.
So, take your expectations of me,
And throw them in the fire!

Image description: Photo of Charlie, cosplaying Harley Quinn dressed in red and black, with their mural behind them, smiling and sticking up their index finger and middle finger, wearing a red fingerless glove, with black nail varnish. Curved text above their head says ‘Are you a bit weird?’ in purple and pink.
